The CANNABIS DEPT. founded late 2023 is based on the idea that there are some true heroes out there in our community. Tirelessly pushing the envelope, and trying to cultivate universal consciousness on the benefits of this one special plant. Already serving us humans for thousands of years with Nutrition, Medicine and Fibers.

Much like Firemen, this is for those who run into the building when the others run out! For the workers, the renegades, fixers, families and enthusiasts literally keeping a plant alive that has been around long before humans. Long before law or sin, long before alcohol and long before Facebook, shadow bans, churches or jails.

Coming to you from the heart of modern cannabis,
This is how it started..

The idea had spawned from late night Amsterdam conversations about who/what civil servants are the still pure, uncompromised, under appreciated and silent heroes of today.
The Fire Brigades around the world. Who are always on call, in many cases work voluntarily, go into places in emergency situations where others need to be rescued, and literally face the fires that impact their community.

We wanted to create a t-shirt/style much like the fire brigades Maltese cross, with a nod to our own community. It did not take long or a logo was born from straight fire one night. Replacing the standard helmet, ladder & hose with some typical tools and devices our community uses.

Typically in firestorm sessions like this somebody is bound to run out of supplies.. Which makes people somehow strangely resourceful in thinking of ideas to never, EVER be in that position again.
So we went back to the roots and started working on the basic needs. Papers, a lighter, grinders and ways to keep your flowers safe in emergency situations.

Unlike Gunter Grass, ideas were spreading like wildfire.. Obviously. With the first classic “STOP, DROP, AND ROLL” – Red & White King Size Rolling Papers pack + filter-tips designed and in production, we knew that we would never be paperless again.

Next absolute classic was the original ‘BREAK GLASS – IN CASE OF EMERGENCY’ mylar bags along with the holographic CANNABIS DEPT. stickers and matching (re-usable) Clipper lighters. Solidifying the brands style & presence in the Cannabis Culture. The rest is history..
